J-Compass (“we”, “us”, “our”) publishes the content available at j-compass.com. This policy explains what information we handle when you read articles, submit the contact form, or otherwise interact with the site.

Information you give us
If you write to us through the contact form, you choose what to share — typically a name, an email address, and the message itself. We use this information only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, user agent, request path, and timestamp — for security and reliability purposes. These logs are retained for a short period and are not used to build advertising profiles.
We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which articles are useful. Where used, it is configured to avoid cookies and to not collect personally identifying information.
Cookies
J-Compass does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Strictly functional storage (for example, your light/dark mode preference) may be saved in your browser’s local storage so the site behaves consistently between visits.
Third-party services
The site relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:
- Form provider — the contact form is embedded from a third-party form service. Messages you submit pass through that service before reaching us.
- Hosting and CDN — pages and assets are served through a hosting provider that may process request metadata to deliver content.
These providers handle data under their own privacy terms. We do not sell or share your information for advertising.
How long we keep information
Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry and for a reasonable follow-up period. Server logs are rotated and discarded on a short schedule.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete a message you have sent, request a copy of the information we hold about you, or correct anything that is inaccurate. Write to us via the contact page and we will respond.
Children
J-Compass is a general-audience reference site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as the site evolves. When we do, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change. Material changes will be announced on the site.
